Chrysanthemum Lemon Cucumber Cocktail Recipe

Wow. What a difference a couple months make right? Once again, sorry for the delay, I didn't know there was going to be a pandemic outside. I hope you are all staying safe and healthy out there. In these times of uncertainty and murder hornets, you may fancy a drink. Luckily, I have partnered with Withco Cocktails to bring you all two refreshing recipes to enjoy in quarantine. Check out the recipe below, and head to the Withco Cocktails website. There you can use my code MARIAH15 to save on your first purchase. Now let's have a drink. Please keep in mind this is a recipe for those of us that are 21+.

Ingredients:

Chrysanthemum Flowers

Sugar

Water

WithCo - Hey Girl

Your preferred gin brand

Lemon juice - just a splash

Though we have spent most of the Spring season indoors, we can still enjoy a floral moment from the comfort of home. Drying your flowers is the first step in order to create this cocktail. Don't fret! Drying chrysanthemums is as easy as opening the microwave. Now I know you probably just tilted your head in confusion. Microwave drying is excellent to maintain the overall color and structure of the flower. Plus the floral flavor will intensify as you use the flowers to make syrups or teas. Start by laying your flowers on a paper towel in the microwave. Cover them with another paper towel and microwave for one minute. After that, check to see if the petals are still soft. If so, continue to microwave the flowers for 30-second intervals. Keep in mind that every microwave is different, and you will have to test this a couple times.

Once your flowers are all dried up set them aside to make your simple syrup. You will need the flowers, water, and sugar. Combine all of your ingredients into a saucepan, and bring to boil. Then turn the heat down to low. Let the flowers steep in the water for 12-20 minutes depending on how big they are, and how much water you added. Strain the flowers out, and set them aside for optional garnish later. Let your syrup cool.

Now we make the drink! Using Hey Girl is a great way to add refreshing flavor to this floral cocktail arrangement. It contains water, lime juice, cucumber, pure cane sugar, and fresh mint.

Start by adding 1.5oz of WithCo mix.

Pour in 1.5-2oz of your favorite gin.

Add 1/2 tbsp of your floral syrup

Add a splash of lemon juice

Add ice and shake!

Pour the mix into a glass and garnish with one of your leftover flowers.

There you have it. Spring in a glass that you can enjoy from the safety of home. Try it out and let me know what you think. Don't forget! You can use code MARIAH15 now to save at www.withcococktails.com/. Want to check out my other recipes? Head back to the home page.
