Spring Clean Your Skin with Lemon Water

As someone who has suffered with highly sensitive skin for years, I have tried every remedy in the book. 2018 was the year of the skin for me. I dedicated serious time to improving the overall look and feel of my skin, while being highly conscious about what I put into my body. One of the things I noticed that helped my skin look flawless and glow, was lemon-infused water. Lemon promotes hydration while also improving the quality of your skin. As an added bonus it also helps aid in digestion and helps you to feel more full so you don't feel the impulse to snack as much. And if you struggle with drinking water, it adds a taste.

Outside of acne-related issues, lemon water also helps with dark spots and wrinkles. Overall this detoxifying agent is perfect for those looking to improve the look of their skin. It also fights against bloating and infections in the body. If you can get over the slightly sour taste you can enjoy this refreshing recipe at any time.

Recipe:

1 Lemon - Washed and sliced (Leave the peel on as a lot of nutrients are in the peel)

Lemon Juice - Use the fresh ends of the lemon to squeeze in some fresh lemon juice before discarding

Water

Ice - Yes, it is that simple (ice is a must because room temp lemon water is rough)

For those that don't want to suffer from the taste of straight up lemon water, I suggest adding a tablespoon of honey or agave nectar. You can also add a little fresh ginger if you are looking to intensify the weight loss and anti-inflammatory benefits. As a huge fan of ginger I keep it handy to put into my lemon water. Feel free to also add your favorite fresh fruit or herbs like basil, rosemary, or mint for a different taste and added benefits. Give it a try for a week or two and let me know if you see a change in your skin.
